摘　　要： 外语学习能力倾向测试在国外被广泛应用于外语培训、研究及教学决策之中,对外语教育具有十分重要的意义。本文分析了国外现有外语学习能力倾向量表,提出了制定适用于国内学生的外语能力倾向量表的草案,并对该套量表的可靠性、有效性进行了实证研究。 Language aptitude has been shown to play a significant role in foreign language learning, but no language aptitude test is available for Chinese learners. The ultimate goal of the project is to develop an instrument for measuring Chinese learners' language aptitude. The development of an aptitude test takes three stages: the design of an initial draft version and field test, the finalization of the test through multiple revisions and field tests, and the establishment of a national norm. The paper reports the results of our work at the first stage: the designing of the draft version of the Language Aptitude Test for Chinese Learners (LATCL) and the results of its initial field test. About 301 students at Shantou University in China participated in the study. The test results were analyzed together with their English achievement scores. They showed the current version is in the right direction and helped to identify areas for revision.
