摘　　要： 目前我国的全民英语热是非理性的。这表现在形形色色强制性的英语考试,更表现在人们不顾实际需要和个人禀赋,花费过多的时间精力学英语、考英语。对此,有关部门不顾专业需要在诸多方面实行强制性的英语考试有很大的责任。这种盲目的英语热必须降温。英语热要降温,必须对现行政策进行较大的调整。 Today＇s nationwide English-learning frenzy is irrational, as manifest in all kinds of compulsory English tests, and more so in the huge amount of time and money spent on learning English and on taking English tests, regardless of practical needs and individual qualifications. The department of enforcing compulsory English tests, regardless of professional needs in many respects, holds responsible. This blind English-learning frenzy must be cooled down. To cool it down, the central government must radically modify its existing policies.
