摘　　要： 在小说《酸甜》中,英国籍中欧混血小说家毛翔青讲述了20世纪60年代一个华人家庭在伦敦的生活遭遇。男女主人陈和丽丽身处英国文化的大环境中,却固执地生活在中国传统文化的孤岛上,最后家庭残缺,前途未卜。他们虽曾努力重新建构一种新的文化身份,但这种身份重建的努力是失败的。对自己的种族身份异常敏感而且情感极其复杂的毛翔青,对中国文化持否定和批评的态度,但并不因此被英国主流社会所接纳。在这种文化和种族身份的尴尬中,他最终选择了远离和观望。 Timothy Mo,a Eurasian novelist of British nationality,depicts the life experience of a Chinese family in London in the 1960s in Sour Sweet. Chen and Lily live in an environment of British culture but withdraw to the traditional of Chinese culture,with the consequence of a broken family and an unknown future.They try to reconstruct a new cultural identity in Britain,but their efforts are in vain.Timothy Mo is extremely sensitive to his unusual racial background and has very complex feelings about it.He adopts a negative and critical attitude to the Chinese culture,but is not thus accepted by the mainstream British society.As a result,he chooses to stand aloof and watch both China and Britain from a distance.
