摘　　要： 当代已故著名翻译家董乐山先生从事翻译工作近五十年,在翻译实践和理论两方面都取得了突出的成就。然而,翻译学界对于这位学者型翻译家尚未给予足够的重视。梳理董先生的翻译著作及其活动,能显示其翻译行为的时代意义与社会责任,分析董先生的翻译思想,则能确认其在当代中国翻译史上的重要地位。 Dong Leshan(1924–1999) was a famous translator in China who made great achievements in both translation theory and practice. However, scant attention has been paid to him in the field of translation studies. This paper pays tribute to him by introducing his translations, highlighting his social responsibility as an intellectual and by analyzing his ideas on translation, thus emphasizing his position as an important figure in the history of Chinese translation.
