With the internationalization of higher education over the world, more and more people, es- pecially young people in China choose to study abroad. High school students become one of the groups who are most likely to study abroad. Where will they choose to study? What factors will influence their desire and consideration to choose overseas destination for study? To address these questions, based on the litera- ture review on theories of customer choice and theories of human capital investment, the study built a mixed model of consumption and investment to interpret the choice of overseas destination for study and analyzed the data collected from a large sample of high school students. The results show that when chose places to study, high school students considered not only the investment value but also the consumption value; meanwhile, their choices were affected and restrained by family background, academic ability and personal characteristics etc.
