摘 要: 郑洪年是中国华侨教育事业的开拓者。他认为 ,华侨教育尤为民族命脉所系 ,非海外任何事业所能比拟。他反对教育洋八股 ,反对理论脱离实际 ,主张教育要中国化 ,华侨教育应适应华侨处在海外特殊环境之需要。指出教育者的错误是理论多 ,而实行少。强调教育要心力交用 ,知行并进 ,提出应重视生产教育、职业教育。他主政暨南期间 ,采取许多改革措施 ,制订“道德、科学、军事、职业、政治五种训练为暨南的教育方针” ,重视学术研究 ,主张兼收并蓄 ,学术自由 ,大力支持学生成立学术团体 ,开展学术研究。 Mr. Zheng Hongnian is one of the pioneers in overseas Chinese education in China. Mr. Zheng thought that education, especially the overseas Chinese education, is a project of vital and lasting importance, even the lifeblood of the nation. He was strongly against any theory divorced from practice and advocated that education must cater to the actual need of the society and education of overseas Chinese must take the special environment of overseas Chinese society into consideration. He pointed out education must combine thinking, knowledge and real practice. He also attached much emphasis to production and profession education. When he was the president of Jinan University, he adopted a series of reform measures, and formulated an education policy of “moral, scientific, military, professional and political training”. He also gave great priority to academic research and academic freedom and spared no efforts in supporting students to organize academic communities and engage in academic research.
