摘　　要： 沃尔夫是当代认知语言学思潮的重要先驱。“语言相对论”对语言和思维中的特异性和普遍性问题的观点对当代认知语言学具有重要影响。语言相对论认为人类普遍性建立语言之外的认知经验的基础之上,认知语言学认为对语言的描写必须参照人的一般认知规律。 From the perspective of history of linguistics, Benjamin Lee Whorf can be seen as an important pioneer of Cognitive Linguistics. Linguistic Relativity holds that thinking and language are either specific or universal, which imposes the great influences upon the contemporary Cognitive Linguistics. Linguistic Relativity Proposes that human universality is based on cognition and embodied experiences rather than language itself, and, Cognitive Linguistics believes the description of language must take the general cognitive law of human being into consideration.
