摘　　要： 本文是作者在广东番禺农村所作的“经济发展与农村人文环境变迁”系列调查报告之一.本文认为,民间宗法礼俗的回潮无助于民间权威的重新树立,经济关系和利益原则已重新梳理和编织当代农村社会网络,社会结构和人际关系日益简单,农村的真实面貌与一般设想的大相径庭,其畸型的景观的出现,缘于农村的都市化并非社会经济有机增长后的自然要求. This report, anoutcome of an on - the - spot investigation intoa village in Panyu, Guangdong, leads to a surprising conclusion: the comeback of various folk customs and rituals do not help reinstate authority among villagers who have now put themselves under the sway of economic gains ang profit principle, In other words, social nerwork in rural areas, which has been greatly streamlined, is more based on economic relations than on clan bindings, which might be quite at variance with general presumptions. The resurgence of patriachal clan system is due to the fact that the urbanization of rural areas is not a natural outcome of social and economic development.
