摘 要: After the cold war, under the direction of all aspects and practical foreign policy, India had raised the relations with ASEAN in a strategic height, and put forward the "looking east" foreign policy formally. In Economy, Military and Defence aspects, the policy has been put in practice. For India, strengthening the relations with ASEAN is the first step of Asian-Pacific strategies. India is willing to be an important member in Asian-Pacific reconstructive procession as China and Japan were. Furthermore, India wants to play an indispensable role in the world, and make her "great power dream" come true.
