摘　　要： 在索赔的过程中,索赔信发挥着重要的作用,是维护当事人正当权益的主要方式与工具。从某种程度上说,索赔的成功与否,取决于索赔信函的撰写与交际功能。文章以情景语境理论为分析框架,从语场、语旨和语式三个角度对商务英语索赔信函进行分析探讨。分析结果表明,索赔信函呈现出特定的语篇特征,这种特定的语篇特征与其使用情景语境和语用功能密切相关。 Business English claim letter which is a main way of maintaining the party＇ s legitimate rights and tools plays a very important role in the successful claiming process. To some extent, a successful claim depends on how well the claim letter is written and expressed for communicative function. Based on the framework of context theory, this article analyzes an business English claim letter from the perspectives of field, tenor and mode. The analytical result shows that claim letter presents some specific textual features which are closely related to the use of its context and pragmatic function.
