Many violent incidents named "destroying newspapers" happened in the press circle from 1946 to 1949, among which some privately-owned papers and their owners were attacked. Based on the reports from some influential newspapers including Front-line Daily, this paper explores the relationship between civil groups and government in context of press supervision, as well as living conditions of newspapers and their owners.
