摘　　要： 以Halliday和Hasan的衔接编码框架为基础,参考国内外学者对词汇衔接理论的研究,对《世说新语》及其英译本A New Account of Tales of the World中使用的各种词汇衔接手段进行比较,探究原作与译作如何通过词汇衔接手段实现语篇的对等翻译,阐述词汇衔接理论在汉英语篇翻译实践中的运用,并从语篇语言学视角探讨典籍英译技巧。 This study aims to take a systematic contrastive study on lexical cohesion between the Chinese classic Shih-shuo Hsin-yü and its English version A New Account of Tales of the World,and to explore the similarities and differences of lexical cohesive between the two languages.Besides,the results of this contrastive study also tend to draw some enlightening on text translation practice when lexical cohesive devices are concerned.As an application of lexical cohesion theory in C-E text translation practice,the study proves to be of certain value to the English translation of Chinese classic literature works.
