The Creation Association consists of a group of young men who went to Japan in the beginning of the twentieth century. They studied in Japan for a long time and were deeply influenced by Japanese literature. The Taishou period witnessed a surge in the study of western literature which must have inspired the members of the Creation Association. In the process of constructing their new romanticism, the Creation Association learned from both the Japanese definition of the concept and the Japanese literary practice.
