摘　　要： 作为近年来国内新闻报道的一种倾向,英语新闻软化及故事化备受关注。软化或故事化的英语新闻用语具有艺术性、生动性和显示情感倾向等特点。在坚持新闻根本原则即真实性原则的基础上,借鉴文学的多种语言手法对新闻材料进行处理,即通过过程叙述、细节描写、话语引用、场景设置、人物刻画和幽默发掘等手法,实现新闻的软化或故事化,能够更有效地报道新闻事件,满足不同受众的需要。 News report softening or storilizing is an obvious trend in media, which has aroused much attention in recent years. A softened or storilized news report has language features of artistic authenticity and familiarity, creative vividness, and emotional tendency. On the basic principle of authenticity, the softening or storilising process takes place by means of literary techniques such as narrating, simple and straightforward description, direct speech quoting, scene setting, character portraying, and humorous presentation to report a news event more effectively and to meet the needs of different audiences.
