摘　　要： 华裔作品《喜福会》中出现了大量的汉语语码,是作者精心安排的,用以传达特定的交际意图。在翻译这部作品时,译者对汉语语码的还原主要采用了"零还原"和"解释性还原"两种策略,都未能很好地体现作者在叙述过程中用语码转换的方式来传递信息的交际意图。通过特殊的处理方式,比如在译文中保留原语码不译,用谐音汉字音译,用正确的汉字加着重号或用斜体、粗体等,可以在一定程度上传递作者的交际意图。 In the English novel The Joy Luck Club the author deliberately uses many Chinese codes,with certain communicative intertions in mind.But these intentions are not well delivered when being translated into Chinese,with two main translating strategies of non-translation and explanatory translation.This paper is to esplore some methods to better deliver the author’s intentions.These methods include keeping the Chinese codes untranslated,using homophonic characters,using emphasis,italic,bold of the characters etc.
