摘 要: 网络英语新闻阅读给学生提供了大量丰富的背景文化知识,而背景文化知识的具备与否又同时直接影响网络英语新闻阅读的效率。本文对非英语专业低年级学生进行测试、问卷调查和访谈,并结合定量定性分析。结果表明,各个不同水平层次(尤其是中低层次)的学生的网络英语新闻阅读理解能力都受到了背景文化知识熟悉程度的影响。文章认为,一般地方院校在实施网络英语新闻阅读教学中加强背景文化知识导入和讲授是行之有效的,并提出丰富输入、建立与扩展图式和优化输出的教学策略,有效地提高英语学习者(尤其是英语阅读能力偏低者)的网络英语新闻阅读能力。 Much rich background knowledge appears in online English news.Whether the stu- dents get access to this background knowledge or not has a direct effect on their read- ing comprehension.Based on the results of a test,a questionnaire survey and an inter- view,the study proves that non-English major college students' online reading abilities are influenced by their degree of background knowledge.It indicates that it is effective to strengthen the teaching of background knowledge through reading online news in lo- cal colleges.Such correlative teaching strategies,including how to help students learn rich background knowledge,build up schema and if used well,will help to improve the students' online reading abilities.
