摘　　要： 文章利用2008届大学生就业调查数据考察本科毕业生起薪的专业差异,并通过分位数回归,分析专业对教育回报作用在不同收入层次上的差异。OLS回归的结果发现,高等教育回报在专业之间存在差距,工学、经济学和管理学的毕业生具有较高的起薪;与"211"大学毕业生相比,一般大学毕业生教育回报的专业差异程度较大。在此基础上,分位数回归的结果表明,专业对教育回报的影响在中、低收入分位上更为突出。专业选择对毕业生收入和劳动市场人才供需结构都具有重要影响,调整专业模式和完善"转专业"制度有利于缓解专业结构性矛盾和提升毕业生起薪水平。 Using survey data of Chinese university graduates in 2008,this paper analyzes the economic returns of different college majors,which are measured by starting salaries.Through quantile regression,this paper also explores how the returns vary across salary distribution.The results indicate that college major plays a critical role in determining the starting salary of college graduates.Specifically,graduates majored in engineering,economics and management have higher starting salaries than law graduates.The analysis reveals that returns of college major vary across salary distribution and that college major returns diminish as salary increases.This paper concludes that college major choice has significant effects on graduates' earnings as well as on labor market's demand and supply.Therefore,adjusting college training modes and improving major transfer policies will help relieve structural contradictions among different college majors and increase starting salaries of college graduates.
