摘　　要： 福克纳在《喧哗与骚动》中塑造了三位悲剧的母亲形象。康普生夫人自私冷漠,直接造成了自己孩子的种种不幸;凯蒂生性善良,却无法避免自己和女儿都成为南方父权社会牺牲品的命运;迪尔西则由于受内化了的种族歧视观念影响,无法做一位合格的母亲。母亲形象的塑造清晰地展示了当时南方社会对女性及黑人的压迫。 In The Sound and the Fury,Faulkner shapes three tragic mothers.Mrs Kempson is a selfish and indifferent mother who directly causes her children's misfortune.Ketty is a kind-hearted girl,but both she and her daughter can not avoid to be the victim of southern society.As a black woman,Dierrsy can not be a qualified mother in a society where racial discrimination is strong.The shaping of mother images clearly shows the persecution of women and black people in the southern society at that time.
