摘　　要： 自古以来,“忠”就是翻译的根本问题。今天的翻译界赋予了传统意义上的“忠实”更宽泛的意义。由于主、客观条件的限制,使得主体因素的作用大小不一,因此“忠实”呈现出不同的程度。我们认为这是两种不同的文化在不同的历史时期和历史语境下协调的结果。对“忠实”作为翻译标准的研究不仅有益于促进文化交流,而且还具有深远的理论意义。 Since the ancient times, ＂faithfulness＂ has become the fundamental concern of translation, which has been given broader coverage nowadays. Limited by the subjective and objective conditions, the exertion made by subjective factor varies, thus, ＂faithfulness＂ takes on different degrees, which we think results from coordination of two different cultures under different historical stages and contexts. The study of ＂faithfulness＂ as a criterion of translation contributes not only to the cultural exchange, but also to the theoretical significance of translation theory.
