In translation, it is inevitable for the translator to permeate his writing or translation style in his works and his style will have direct influence on the representation of the style of the original works. As a translator, he should deal with the conflicts between his style and the original style of the works so as to choose to be "a versatile genius" or "a peculiar actor". In the translated works "300 Tang Poems" ,Xu Yuanchong seeks his style characterized by rhyme at the cost of the original style of the works. His failure tells that a reasonable translator should follow wholeheartedly the style of the original work instead of highlighting his own style at the sacri- fice of the original style.
