摘　　要： 电大教学质量的好坏，不仅直接影响到电大自身的形象，影响到电大今后的发展，而且事关我国成人高等教育的质量及我国高等教育培养的人才规格。然而，教学质量的好坏取决于诸多因素，其中教师整体素质的高低是制约教学质量好坏的一个重要因素。目前，电大教师中知识单一、... The paper has three sections. First, it analysesthe importance of improving the quality of theRTVUs teaching staff Due to the characteristics ofthe target learners within the RTVUs, the authorsuggests that the teaching and administration inRTVUs should be unique. Young teachers need toimprove themselves in foreign langUages, IT and theever-developing economics.The author suggests 'what' and 'how' interms of improvement. According to her, youngteachers need to train themselves in politics, raisingtheir sense of professionalism; deepen their knowledge in subject matter, changing from single- tomulti-roles; put theory into practice, changing fromknowledge -oriented to skill -oriented; adopt newideas, changing from one-way to interactive teaching; face the technical world, making use of themodern educational technology. She also stressesthat young teachers also need to improve their abilities in research.Finally, she suggests that administrative supportand emphasis from the teaching department shouldbe very important. Setting up an awarding system isalso helpful in encouraging and motivating youngteachers.
