Herta MUller's writings belong to the category of "barderline writings" of peripheral people. The indefinite ethnic and cultural identity provided her with a writing perspective different from those mainstream writers. Such a perspective crosses over the demarcation lines of ethnic groups, cultural and linguistic families and presents to the readers a prospect of mixed cultural elements. Meanwhile her works also correspond to the multi-cultural and cross cultural trend of the Nobel Prize in Literature after the 21st century, which shows a new concern of Nobel Prize in Literature.
