摘　　要： 距离象似性是指语言成分之间的形式距离对应于它们之间的概念距离。英语委婉语在句法、篇章和语用三个层面均体现了距离象似性。句法层面的距离象似性主要体现在动词过去时的运用,转移否定和使用间接使役动词;语篇层面表现为间接式语篇布局的运用;语用层面体现为话语的长度象似于交际双方的社会距离。距离象似性为我们理解和掌握英语委婉语提供了一个新视角。 Distance iconicity means the linguistic distance of expressions corresponding to the conceptual distance between them. Distance iconicity is reflected in English euphemism at syntactic, textual and pragmatic levels. At syntactic level, distance iconicity is reflected in the use of past tense, transferred negation and indirect causative, in the use of indirect approach at textual level and in the expression of social distance at pragmatic level. Distance Iconicity provides a new perspective for the understanding and mastering of English Euphemisms.
