摘　　要： 菲茨杰拉德的《了不起的盖茨比》在叙述上特别注重时间词语的运用。具体来说,该小说的叙事时间在时序方面主要是倒叙,且其倒叙是以内倒叙为主,并适当使用了外倒叙;在时距方面,小说以场景为主,这种对话式的场景体现了陀思妥耶夫斯基的对话特色,同时以概述、省略和停顿来测量叙事时间和故事时间的长度变化;在频率方面继承了传统,以单一叙述为主,少量重复叙述和综合叙述串联其中。 Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby is characterized by the use of time.Specically,the narrative time of the novel represents analepsis in the respect of order,with internal analepsis as the main form and external analepsis as the supplementary form.At the same time,the novel’s scenes are characterized by Dostoyevsky’s dialogue in the respect of duration,while measuring changes in narrative time and story time with summary,elipsis and pause.Finally,this novel inherits the tradition in the respect of frequency,with singulative narration as the main form,intertwined with repetitive narration and iterative narration.
