摘　　要： 乔治·萨顿为了科学史事业奉献一生，除著书立说之外，他还开创科学史专业教育，创办国际著名科学吏刊物Isis和Osiris，威立美国科学史学会等，因此被后人誉为科学史之父．遗憾的是，长期以来一直没有萨顿的个人传记．《乔治·萨顿的激情》一书通过大量的实地调查和广泛的资料收集，通过萨顿对人生、婚姻、事业充满激情的这个视角再现了萨顿为科学史奋斗的历程．在写作方法上，作者超越了“功德碑”式的传统方法，开创了科学技术史人物传记写作的新范式． George Sarton devoted all his life to the cause of History of Science. Besides writing the books, he established the subject of History of Science, sponsored the international magazines Isis and Osiris, set up the Society of History of Science. Thus he was praised as the Father of the History of Science. Unfortunately, there is no biography of George Sarton for a long time. The Passion of George Sarton recovers the processes of the striving of George Sarton from the angle of his life, marriage and cause with a lot of investigation and collection of material. In the writing method, the author surpasses the traditional method and originates a new methodology of biography writing.
