摘　　要： 美国是现代公民教育思想与实践的策源地，其公民教育的核心教育理念是：尊重公民个人的价值与追求，一切从“你”——一个具体的人开始。注重培养公民的“自律”和“规则”意识；引导公民正确处理个人与国家、政府的关系；致力于培养公民“清醒的思考能力”；重视隐性课程与仪式教育对公民的影响。美国公民教育的成功，极大地加快了其国家现代化的进程。 The United States is the place of origin for citizen education both in theory and practice. Its core concept is that the values and pursuits of the citizens should be respected. This means everything begins with the notion of individual self. Accordingly, much attention is given to cultivating its citizens＇ awareness of ＂self-discipline＂ and ＂rules＂, helping them to balance their relationship with the state and the government, developing their ability to think independently, and exerting imperceptible influence by rituals. Its success in citizen education has thus speeded up modernization of the country.
