知识导向到生活导向:哈佛大学新一轮通识教育改革的理念嬗变

摘  要: 与核心课程相比,哈佛新一轮通识教改在理念上由“知识导向”走向“生活导向”。核心课程强调培养学生的求知能力和思维方式,而新方案则侧重培养学生适应未来生活的能力。新方案课程体系的变化,如加强自然科学素质的培养、建立“活动学习”模式、拓展美育类课程、探究智慧生活的艺术,都体现了“生活导向”的原则。在社会现实的巨大变迁面前,哈佛在努力寻求自由教育与实用主义教育的平衡点,尽管有时进退失据,但总体上仍为自身赢得了更大的发展空间。 At Harvard University,compared with the core curriculum,the idea of the newest general education reform develops from "knowledge-orientation"to "life-orientation. "While the core curriculum highlights developing students’ abilities of"approaches of Knowledge"and"ways of thinking",the new program focuses on developing students’ abilities to adapt to future life. The changes in the new program curriculum system,such as strengthening the cultivation of the quality of natural sciences,establishing "activity learning"mode,expanding aesthetic education courses,and exploring the art of intelligent living,all embody the principle of"life orientation". Faced with the great changes of social reality,Harvard University is striking a balance between liberal education and pragmatism education. Although sometimes kept in the air,overall it has won a broader space for its own development.
