摘　　要： 通过对文献的综合分析，总结了GIS应用于历史地理学、文化地理学、考古和文化资源管理以及空间社会科学的研究进展，并介绍了我国历史文化地理信息系统的建设实践。尽管在历史地理和文化地理研究中GIS应用仍面临一些问题，但它拥有巨大的潜力。因此，国内历史地理和文化地理学者应该重新认识GIS的作用，开发适合的GIS应用软件，搭建跨学科的合作研究平台，争取将GIS在历史文化研究中的应用纳入数字城市计划之中。 Convex hull is one of the basic problems in computational geometry. For its importance, people are searching for the faster algorithms all the time. Convex hull has many characteristics. It is also a powerful tool to construct other geometry structures. This paper reveals a property of the convex hull of planar point set. If the sub convex hull includes four extreme value points （the north,the south, the east and the west）, the outside points to an edge of the sub convex hull will be inside of the outside right-angled triangle decided by the edge. It is strictly proved in the paper. According to the content of the property, the fast convex hull algorithm by using the rectangle-area filtering technique is improved, and a good accelerating effect is achieved during the experiments. The rectangle-area filtering technique can also be used in the case of three-dimension.
