摘　　要： 威廉·史泰伦的文学创作带有新历史主义特质的史学思维,他所沉思的历史具有人文主义关怀的文学视角,将一个个鲜活的小人物还原于一幅幅被忽视的、静默的历史画面之中,通过千姿百态的历史小人物戏剧化地呈现一个个历史的偶然和意外,而这无数的偶然和意外生动地阐释了一个时代的特征。这样,威廉·史泰伦逾越历史的屏障,将历史本真与文学本位完美地契合在一起,赋予虚构的文学一种颇具后现代意味的历史意义和美学价值。 William Styron's literature is often of historical thinking like a new historicist,and his contemplation of history is often of literary perspective like a humanist. He used to make his characters alive and lifelike again in the neglected silent historical scenes to uncover one historical accident after another through their various and dramatic performances. And the countless accidents vividly exhibit the characteristics of an era. In this way,William Styron surmounts the historical barrier,combines historicity and literariness perfectly together,and endows fictional literature with historical significance and aesthetic value in terms of postmodernism.
