摘　　要： 致力于推进中西文学、文化交流的美国作家赛珍珠深切地了解中国农耕文化,并对中国人立足田亩、眷恋乡村的土地崇拜有着感同身受的理解。以赛氏的两部农村题材小说作品为例,可以揭示和分析赛珍珠在其跨文化书写中对中国人"土地崇拜"的理解,以及对异域丧葬习俗的客观文本展示。 Pearl S. Buck, the American woman writer committed to the promotion of cultural un- derstandings between Chinese and American people, impresses most Chinese readers with her vivid description of Chinese people on the Chinese land. Focusing on the Chinese land and Chinese farmers in her literary creation, she expresses her perception of land worship among Chinese people. Based on her two masterpieces with country theme, this paper attempts to reveal and analyze her understanding of land worship and her objective description of foreign cultural customs in the cross-cultural writing.
