摘　　要： 传教士柏格理远渡重洋来到中国西南地区传播基督福音,在和花苗与汉族妇女的近距离接触中,形成了喜爱与批判两种截然不同的态度。而造成这种反差极大的书写策略与认知态度的原因,与柏格理传教士身份定位、文化属性及叙述者身份紧密相关。 In the 1900s, the British Methodist Samuel Pollard travelled across the oceans to southwestern China in order to disseminate the gospel. Then, two kinds of totally opposite attitudes were shaped in his contact with the Flowery Miao and Hart women. The purpose of this paper is to probe into the reasons which lead to his clear-cut writing strategies and cognitive attitude. It explores that the outcome is closely-rooted in Pollard＇ s identity as a preacher, a western narrator and his cultural background.
