摘　　要： 8月31日,新华社首次全文发布习近平总书记6月23日在深度贫困地区脱贫攻坚座谈会上的重要讲话。在讲话中,习近平总书记表示,＂党的十八大以来,我最关注的工作之一就是贫困人口脱贫。每到一个地方调研,我都要到贫困村和贫困户了解情况,有时还专门到贫困县调研。＂总书记说,全国的11个山区集中连片特困地区,＂我都走到了＂。这次座谈会是总书记亲自主持召开的第四次跨省区脱贫攻坚座谈会。 Shibadong(literally means '18 caves'), a remote enclave in the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture, once suffered poverty due to a severe shortage of arable land and poor transportation. Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Shibadong village in 2013, and it was then that he proposed his targeted poverty alleviation program. Instead of generalized programs, he wanted funds to be carefully applied to tailor-made programs. The village leaders renovated walkways, designed branding for village products, and began marketing the village as a tourism destination.The villagers' mindsets have turned positive, and they are more motivated after seeing the obvious results.
