摘　　要： 中国园林和英国乡村庄园分别是中、英两国建筑史上极具代表性的建筑类型之一,同时也是两国文学史上非常典型的建筑意象。在小说中,这两种建筑不仅用来为文本的叙事服务,同时也通过其自身所蕴含的深厚的文化内涵丰富文本的意义,具有高度的美学价值。 Classical Chinese garden and British manor are respectively one of the most typical buildings in each country＇ s architecture history, and they are also the typical building images in each country＇ s history of literature. These two kinds of building images, in novels, have great aesthetic significance and they not only contribute to the narration of story, but also reflect the pro- found cultural significance behind themselves.
