摘　　要： 世界文化遗产是全人类共同的财产,具有历史、文化、艺术等多方面价值,因其不可再生、不可替代和稀缺的特性,对世界文化遗产的保护就显得尤为紧迫和重要。当前我国对世界文化遗产的保护主要集中在对遗产主体的保护,而对遗产地周边环境的保护以及社区参与遗产保护重视不够。本文以元上都遗址为例,根据元上都遗址保护过程中社区参与的情况,分析了社区参与在元上都遗址保护中的重要性,并就如何使社区参与在元上都遗址保护过程中充分发挥作用等问题进行探讨。 World cultural heritage is a common treasure of all mankind with historical, cultural, artistic value etc. Because of its non-renewable, irreplaceable and scarce characteristics,the conservation of the world cultural heritage is particularly urgent and important. Nowadays conservation of the world cultural heritage in China mainly focused on its main body, however the conservation of the surrounding environment and community participation has been not attracted too much attention. This paper analyzes the importance of community participation in the conservation of the site of Xanadu and discusses about how to make the community participation fully play a role in the process of the conservation of the site of Xanadu.
