摘 要: 克莱夫·贝尔提出的"有意味的形式"观点对现代艺术理论产生了重要影响,但学界在接受此观点时过分偏向了结论本身,而忽视了贝尔的具体论证过程。实际上,通过对二十世纪之前西方艺术史的详细论证,贝尔表达了对艺术作品蕴含永恒价值的希望,并以塞尚绘画作为艺术与真理结合的典范,大力推崇艺术品的永恒性。但随着西方现代艺术的发展,艺术作品中具有普遍真理、绝对意义的永恒理念在以反叛传统和求变求新为特点的现代艺术中不断被消解。 Clive Bell's theory of "art is significant form"has an effect on modern art theory deeply. Academic circle pay more attention to the conclusion of Bell's theory,but they always neglect the procedure of particular proving. Bell expressed his expectation of eternal value in art by a series of detailed argumentation about western art history which happened before 20 th century,then he set the paintings of Cezanne as a model which were combined by art and truth. However,with the development of western modern art,the art's eternal value,including universal truth,has been dissolving by modern art for rebelling tradition paintings and searching for innovation.
