Parent-child attachment is an important factor affecting emotional health. Good parent-child relationship is conducive to children's physical and psychological development. To our knowledge, most researches have focused on the direct effect of parent-child attachment on left-behind's emotion health, however, little is known about the mediating mechanism and moderating mechanism underlying this relation. The current study hypothesizes the mediating effect of emotion regulation ability and the moderating role of family environment between attachment and emotion health. Aiming at testing these hypotheses, 557 students (279 males, 278 females, mean age = 14.4 years, SD = 1.69) in Hunan Province were recruited to participate in this study. All the data was analyzed with the software SPSS 19.0 and the main statistic methods were correlation analysis and hierarchical regression modeling. In line with our hypotheses, the correlation results showed that: (1) Parent-child attachment were significantly related to emotion regulation ability and emotion health. (2) Emotion regulation ability and emotion health related significantly. The regression results revealed that: (1) Parent- child attachment significantly positively predicted the left-behind children emotional health; (2) The emotion regulation ability partly mediated the relationship between parent-child attachment and emotion health; (3) The mediation of emotion regulation ability was significantly moderated by the family environment.
