摘　　要： 喜乐斯图书馆因其主要资助来自喜乐斯夫妇而被命名,后由哈佛大学管理。2004年10月哈佛大学决定将喜乐斯藏书无偿捐赠给中山大学。2005年8月,喜乐斯藏书运抵中山大学图书馆,并由其馆长程焕文音译为"喜乐斯藏书",以表达"喜于斯,乐于斯"之意。喜乐斯藏书基于哈佛大学与中山大学发展理念的认同,彰显了哈佛精神与中大精神的交融,并以优越的藏书环境和完善的服务实现喜乐斯藏书的学术价值,现已成为中美文化学术交流的一座桥梁。 The Hilles Library was named after Mr. and Mrs. Hilles because they are main sponsors, and then managed by Harvard University. The Harvard University decided to freely donate Hilles collection to the Sun Yat-sen University in October, 2004. In August, 2005, the Hilles collection arrived in the Sun Yat-sen University Library, and was named after the meaning of ＂loving and enjoying＂ by Cheng Huanwen, the director of the Sun Yat-sen University Library. Based on the same developing concept of the Harvard University and the Sun Yat-sen University, the Hilles collection illustrates the integration of the spirit of the two universities, and achieves the academic value through its excellent collection environment and services. Now the Hilles collection has now become the bridge of Sino-US cultural and academic exchanges.
