摘　　要： 文章从服务内容、服务方式、服务空间三个维度分析美国高校图书馆延伸服务的实践,论述其对我国高校图书馆延伸服务的启示是注重用户行为研究、让读者参与新服务的设计、在延伸服务实现过程中调动图书馆员的积极性,思考我国高校图书馆的未来发展。 This paper explores how American university libraries extend their services in three dimensions： service content, service mode and service space. And then it discusses the major ways of service expansion in those university libraries： developing user-led services, innovating service approaches with information technology, and extending service space by functions. The study indicates that it is critical for service expansion to focus on user behavior research, users＇ participation in new service design, and librarian motivation. Finally, this paper presents some suggestions for the future development of Chinese university libraries.
