中英文电影台词的强势模因分析

摘  要: 模因论,作为一个新兴的学科,从一诞生起就受到了很多学者的关注,不同领域的学者,都试图将本学科同模因论结合以获得新的启示。在我国,模因论发展的还相对比较慢,研究模因论的人也相对比较少。本篇论文尝试着用模因论分析电影台词中的“强势模因”,探讨创造“强势模因”的方法。 道金斯/(1976/)提出“强势模因”的特点:保真度,多产性及长寿性。基于这些特点,作者搜集了的大量的中英文电影台词的“强势模因”来进行分析,并在Verschueren/(2000/)的语言顺应论的基础上,结合模因的有关理论,构建一个理论框架,用来分析“强势模因”的形成。论文中,作者指出电影台词中的强势模因的形成是因为它们顺应了人们的心理世界、社交世界和物理世界的需求。心理世界包括认知因素、情感因素等。社交世界包括社交场合、社会环境、规范交际者言语行为的原则和准则。物理世界主要包括时间和空间的指称关系,还有身体姿势,手势,以及交际双方的生理特点和外表形象等。 此外,作者还尝试着探讨一些创建“强势模因”的方法,如重复,仿化和追求时尚等。“重复”可以使信息得到强调,从而使一些模因能够吸引别人的注意,最终成为“强势模因”。“仿化”通过对原先的“强势模因”进行改进,达到给人耳目一新的感觉,从而诞生新的“强势模因”。“追求时尚”策略是很多喜剧电影里常用的打造“强势模因”的方法。 据作者所知,在国内本篇论文是用模因论分析电影台词里的“强势模因”的最早尝试,难免有很多不足,期望更多的研究人员对电影台词有更深入的研究,从而找出更多有效的创造“强势模因”的方法,推进电影事业更好的发展。 Memetics,a newly emerging science,catches the attention of many scholars since its birth.Many scholars try to get some enlightenment by combining memetics with their research field.In China,memetics develops relatively slowly,and there are only a small number of people who conduct the research of memetics.This paper attempts to analyze the strong memes in English and Chinese movie lines with memetics and tries to find out the comprehensive methods of creating strong memes. According to Dawkins/(1976/),the features of a strong meme can be summarized into three words:fidelity,fecundity,and longevity.In this paper,the author collects a large number of strong memes in English and Chinese movie lines to make analysis. This paper constructs a framework employing Adaptation Theory proposed by Jef Verschueren and relevant theories about memes to analyze the process of creation of strong memes.In this paper,the author argues the reason why the strong memes in English and Chinese movie lines are popular is that they have adapted to the mental world,social world and physical world of the audience.The mental world includes the cognitive and emotive factors.Social world includes social settings,social institutions and community-specific communicative norms.Temporal reference, spatial reference,body position,gesture and the physical features of the communicators are mainly studied in the field of physical world. Furthermore,the author attempts to study some methods of creating strong memes,namely,reiteration,parody and following the fashions.'Reiteration' could make the information emphasized,arouse the attention of others,and make them become 'strong memes'.Parody is mainly used to make some slight change of the original 'strong memes'.These variants could give the audience a sense of freshness and help themselves become strong memes. As far as the writer knows,this paper is the first one to analyze the strong memes in movie lines from the perspective of memetics in China.There is no doubt that there are a lot of shortcomings and the author hopes that more people will conduct the research on the movie lines and find more effective ways to create strong memes.If possible,these methods could promote the development of film industry.
