摘 要: 随着信息技术的迅速发展,继续教育和终身学习成为人们适应社会变化的必然要求。远程教育以开放、弹性灵活的特性受到成人学习者的欢迎,使得远程教育的规模在世界范围内迅速扩张。然后,较高的学生辍学/流失/沉淀率问题始终困扰着远程教育工作者。揭示远程学习者辍学/流失/沉淀的规律和特点,识别远程学习者完成学业的重要影响因素是解决远程学习者辍学/流失/沉淀问题的前提。国外十分重视对远程和成人教育学生辍学/保持问题的研究,并形成了大量有一定影响力的理论成果,而国内对这一问题的重视程度还远远不够,基于此,本研究对国内远程学习者完成学业的重要因素进行实证性的研究。 本研究采用文献调研的方法对国内外远程教育学生辍学/保持的文献作了比较详尽的调研;采用统计与访谈的方法对华南师范大学网络教育学院324名辍学者进行了分析;采用档案分析法对华南理工大学、中山大学、广州广播电视大学现代远程教育试点2004年报年检中有关学生沉淀/(延迟毕业/)的数据进行了统计分析,对华南师范大学网络教育学院2002年秋季~2004年秋季5个批次注册学生的毕业情况进行了统计分析;采用问卷调研的方法对华南师范大学网络教育学院成功完成学业的73名学生和沉淀的70名学生进行了详尽的对比分析。并就有关远程学习者沉淀和流失问题,对来自远程教育一线的45名从业人员进行了调查研究。 通过对远程教育辍学者、学业成功者、沉淀生和从业人员访谈和调研,及其相关数据的分析,从多元视角对远程学习者完成学业的影响因素进行了深入研究,发现学习者平时的努力程度和工学矛盾是对完成学业产生影响的两个最主要因素。其次,学习者的预备基础对完成学业具有重要影响。此外,社会支持/(家庭的支持,同事朋友的支持,教育机构的支持与服务/),学习动机的强度,交互/(与教师、同学的交互/),干扰事件,专业与工作的一致性,经济负担等均会对学习者完成学业产生影响。 本研究的创新点主要体现在两个方面,一是首次提出“沉淀生”的概念,并对其进行了界定,对远程教育学生沉淀的现象、规律进行了分析归纳,深入探讨了远程学习者沉淀的深层次原因,为人们认识、解决远程学习者沉淀问题做了基础性的工作。二是在国内远程教育实践环境中,对国外远程教育学生辍学的经典理论进行了检验与修订,为我国远程教育学生辍学理论的发展做出了开创性工作。 With the development of information technology, continuous education and lifelong learning are becoming necessary requirements for people to adapt to the change of society. Since distance education is open and flexible, it is widely welcomed and extended throughout the world. However, the comparatively high rates of students' dropout, loss and Delay Graduation hinder the quality and sound development of distance education. Therefore, recognizing the regularities and features of the above problem and distinguishing the main factors that affect learners to fulfill their study are the starting point for its resolution. The dropout and maintenance of distance and adult education have been researched a lot, and have formed a series of influential theoretical achievements abroad. Yet, the study about this matter is far from enough in our country. Thus, this paper does an empirical research on the main factors which affect the distance learners to finish their studies. This paper introduces the documents which are about distance learners' dropout and maintenance both home and abroad, with the help of the survey of document. Besides, it statistically analyzes the data in annual report and censor in 2004, which concerns Delay Graduation in education experiments of distance education that include South China University of Technology, Sun Yan-Sen University, and Guang Zhou Radio/& TV University. Meanwhile, it analyzes the graduating state about the students who registered in the School of Network education in South China Normal University from autumn in 2002 to the autumn in2004. In addition, with the application of questionnaire toward students in School of Network Education in South China Normal University, it compares 73 students who have finished their school work successfully with 70 Delay Graduation students. Concerning the delay and loss of distance learners, it makes a survey on the 45 employees in distance education. After interviewing and surveying the dropouts, successful learners, delay gradations and employees in distance education, along with analyzing the relevant data, it studies the factors that affect learners' fulfillment of learning from multipoint of view, discovering that the extent how hard learners work and the contradiction between work and learning are the two most important factors that affect the fulfillment of learning. Next, learners' previous foundation is also influential. Besides, the support of society, such as support from family, colleague, friends, educational agency, along with the intensity of learning motivation, interaction with teachers or classmates, interfering incidents, the consistency of major and work, as well as economic burden, all will have an effect on learners' fulfillment of learning. The creative points of this research are demonstrated from two aspects. One is to put forward and define the concept of 'Delay Graduation' for the first time. It analyzes and induces the phenomenon and regularities of Delay Graduation in distance education, seeking the hidden reason for this matter, which has done a fundamental work for people to understand and to solve this problem. The other is to examine and to revise the classical theory, about the dropouts of distance education in the foreign countries, under domestic distance education circumstance. Meanwhile, it makes a pioneering work for the development of theory that involves dropouts in the area of Chinese distance education.
