工作记忆能力与英汉交替传译质量关系的实验报告

摘  要: 工作记忆是指信息暂时存贮及其与其它更为复杂任务的联合运作的系统。在口译活动中,工作记忆负责对即时性信息的存储与加工,是影响口译质量的重要因素之一。因此,工作记忆能力在口译活动中的作用一直是译界关注的一个热点问题。 本文以英语专业高年级学生为研究对象,根据国际通用的阅读广度测试来衡量被试的工作记忆能力水平,以各种参数衡量被试英汉交替传译在信息完整性、术语与数字准确性、流利度与逻辑性方面的表现,并将二者进行比较,探讨在英汉交替传译的过程中,工作记忆能力对译员口译质量的影响。结果发现,被试工作记忆广度与英汉交替传译质量在完整度、术语与数字准确性、流利度与逻辑性方面存在正相关关系。 本文共分五章。第一章为引言,介绍了本文的理论基础、关于口译记忆的以往研究以及本文的研究意义和基础框架;第二章为实验概述,从整体角度论述实验内容、实验目的、实验假设、实验方法等;第三章为实验过程,具体介绍现场操作过程及实验数据的收集和整理、测验结果评判标准等;第四章为实验结果及分析;第五章客观分析本文存在的不足之处以及根据实验结论对口译教学和实践提出建议。 Working memory is the system that actively holds multiple pieces of transitoryinformation in the mind, where they can be manipulated. In interpreting, working memory isin charge of the storage and processing of immediate information, thus making an importantfactor in influencing interpreting quality. The role played by working memory capacity ininterpreting remains to be a hotspot issue in the field of interpreting research. This thesis aims to investigate the relationship between working memory capacity andE-C consecutive interpreting by conducting two tests. The first test is working memory spantest and the second one is E-C consecutive interpreting test. By comparing and analyzing theresults of two tests, this thesis comes to the conclusion that working memory capacity ispositively correlated with E-C consecutive interpreting in terms of completeness, accuracy ofterminology and figures, fluency and logic. This thesis is divided into five chapters. Chapter One is the introduction, in which thetheoretical basis, the previous researches and significance of the research are described.Chapter Two is the experiment description, which takes a holistic view of the wholeexperiment, including experiment content, aims, hypothesis, and methods. Chapter Three isexperiment process. It describes the procedures of the experiment in detail and talks about thetest scoring criteria of each test. Chapter Four collects all the data, compare and analyze themwith the help of the software SPSS and then come to the conclusion. The last chapterdiscusses the limitations of the thesis and implications the conclusion has on interpretingteaching and practice.
