摘　　要： 本报告为对《人力资本主义——经济发展如何让我们愈加聪明，却又愈加不平等》一书译文的讨论及总结。该书是美国卡托研究所学者布林克·林塞近年的又一代表作，自2012年8月出版之后引起了学界的广泛关注。在该书中，林赛提出了人力资本主义的概念，并指出由于美国社会分配的不均衡，许多人面临着被社会边缘化的风险。在他看来，以往“富不过三代”的传统社会已经过去，在当今社会，人力资本的不断积累足以保证个人的长足发展以及家族的持续兴旺。显然，在林赛看来，21世纪的世界已经成了竞争人力资本的疆场。人们掌握的人力资本越多，社会经济地位也就越高越稳定，而且这种资本积累上的差距会越来越大。因此，如何应对当今社会的复杂化形势，如何积累自己的人力资本就成了很多人尤其是中低层阶级所面临的巨大难题。 出于对林赛观点的浓厚兴趣，译者翻译了本书的前四章并总结了翻译过程中所遇到的问题以及处理策略。在这一过程中，译者发现奈达的功能对等理论可以作为翻译的指导原则，而具体的翻译策略则是基于功能对等的四个层面，包括：词汇对等、语句对等，篇章对等以及风格对等。此外，译者认为脚注也是一种传递信息从而实现功能对等的重要方式。 本报告包括任务描述，过程描述，案例分析以及总结。 This report describes the translator’s strategies in translating Brink Lindsey’s HumanCapitalism: How Economic Growth Has Made Us Smarter—and More Unequal.As a provocative and widely discussed sociology treatise, Lindsey’s book offers aseemingly gloomy fact that more and more people, due to a lack of right humancapital, are gradually being marginalized in social arena. He argues that it iseconomic expansion that is creating an increasingly complex world in which only aminority with the right knowledge and skills—the right 'human capital'—reap themajority of the economic rewards. He also suggests how the huge benefits of thisdevelopment can be spread beyond those who are already enjoying its rewards. Inspired by Lindsey’s novel opinions, the translator translated the first fourchapters of this144-page book and summarized the problems throughout thetranslating process. During the translation process the translator recognized thatNida’s functional equivalence can serve as translation guidance. By applying variousstrategies, the translator achieved four levels of equivalence in translating this book.In addition, the translator also discussed the significance of making footnotes. As a comprehensive account of the translation task, this report consists of taskdescription, process description, case study and conclusion.
