摘　　要： 论述了中国传统民居研究的意义、民居研究发展四个阶段的特点和成就、民居研究的现状,包括民居研究与社会、文化、哲理思想的结合,与形态、环境的结合,与营造、设计法的结合以及与保护、改造、发展的结合。论文最后着重提出了两点展望,一是抢救民居遗产和加强民居的保护和利用,二是深入进行民居理论的研究,从而使民居研究获得更高层次的发展。 The thesis expounds the significance of the research on vernacular architecture and discusses the features and achievements of the four phases in the research.The author maintains that vernacular architecture research should be combined with the socio-cultural research,the study of philosophy,the study of the building form and the environment as well as with the study of building and designing methods and the conservation and transfor- mation of the vernacular architecture.The paper ends with two proposals:one is associated with the conservation and utilization of vernacular architecture,and the other is about how to deepen the research of vernacular architecture at a higher level.
