摘 要: 新历史主义与文化人类学之间可以彼此阐释、对勘发明。在研究对象上,它们都认为文学与文化相互渗透,彼此不间断地流通往来;在人与文化的观念上,都认为人是文化的造物,文化是一种社会话语流;在解释方法层面,都提倡循环往复的厚描。同时,文化人类学在将文学批评用于文化阐释时并不强调激进政治,新历史主义在使用厚描方法时仍然重视文学问题。其共同的盲点是对历史线性序列的历时研究逐渐让位于对文化系统流通的共时描述,这导致了一种所谓的“文化主义谬误”。 New Historicism and Cultural Anthropology are thick description of each other. Each can be interpreted by the other, as far as the objects of study, the conceptions of human beings and the critical methods are concerned. Both of them hold that literary and cultural texts circulate inseparably; human beings are cultural artifacts and cultures are flows of social discourse; both of them adopt thick description as their researching method. Meanwhile, the Anthropologists apply literary criticism to the interpretation of culture without stressing its radical politics; the New Historicists pay more attention to literary problems whenever they use thick description as a critical method. The common blindness of such research lies in the fact that the diachronic study on the linear series of history is giving way to the synchronic description of the circulations of the cultural systems, which is leading to a culturalist fallacv.
