摘 要: 近代史上的基督教一直致力于生存空间的扩展,民国初年的基督教更是获得一良好的发展时机。但随着袁世凯在文教界及政界进行一系列尊孔的活动,基督教在客观上遭到了官方与社会的排斥,他们通过种种努力与斗争,有效地回应了此次挑战。本文重点在于分析他们如何充分发挥报刊的舆论作用,来消解其与政府之间的紧张关系。这也反映了其对自身法律上的合法地位与社会政治问题的自觉与重视。此时基督教报刊上的言论也呈现了一些与以往不同的特点,儒学是否是宗教已经失去了学理上的争论价值,更大程度是一种政治斗争的策略与手段;而且也没有排斥儒学,这体现出基督教在近代中国的发展过程中对中国传统文化的调适。 Christianism (Protestantism) applied itself to the erdargeroent of its living in modem history, and it gained a well change of development in early Republic. but along with the appearance of worship of Confucius in the political and ideology circles raised by YuanSikai, it was impersonally excluded from the government and society. This article primarily explains how they made full use of the public opinion of the press to settle the contradiction with the government. Besides their saying had some different characteristic that implied that Christiamsm had gradually adapted to the Chinese traditional culture and attached importance to the legally status and social political problem.
