摘 要: 文章采用文献研究法对上个世纪80年代国外远程教育学术界出现的学科论争鸣作了系统的描述 和梳理。总结并提出了这次争鸣对目前我国远程教育专业发展和学科建设的启示。 Grounded in voluminous literature review, this paper gives a summary and reorganization of the debate on whether distance education was a discipline, which occurred in the late 1980s involving several important figures in this field from different countries. This debate can give us a lot of inspiration and render further discussion on the establishment of distance education as a discipline as well as a program in the domain of China's higher education.
