摘　　要： 近年有论者提出“烛龙神话”是我国远古先民对北极极光现象的“描述和解释” ,但此说不能成立 :它不但把古籍中的“北极”和《吕氏春秋》的“当枢之下”错误地理解为现代地理学的北极 ,而且无论从人文历史、地理环境和极光现象的特点进行分析 ,“烛龙” Recently somebody advanced that our nation's ancient Zhulong Myth refers to the polar lights. But it is not true. There are two reasons: The first is the misunderstanding of the North Pole in ancient books. They take the pivot in Lu's Spring and Autumn as the North Pole. The second is that the zhulong Myth can not be polar lights examined historically and geographically as compared with the features of the polar lights.
