摘　　要： 构建和谐社会是未来相当长一段时期内我国社会主义现代化建设的基本目标。社会保障因其所具备的特殊的社会功能而对这一目标的实现起着特殊的作用。本文首先从理论上阐述了社会主义和谐社会的内涵与要求,并系统阐述了社会保障的社会功能,在此基础上具体分析和阐述了我国社会保障事业的发展对"社会主义和谐社会"建设的核心意义与作用。 Actualizing the Socialist Harmonious Society is the basic objective of socialist modernization in our country in the future. Social security is very important to achieve this objective due to its specific social function. This paper firstly explained the connotations and essential characteristics of Socialist Harmonious Society theoretically, then systematically expatiated the social functions of social security. Finally, the paper analysed and concluded that social security is the core content of the Socialist Harmonious Society.
