改革开放以来非英语专业研究生英语教材的演变

摘  要: 本文纵观改革开放以来,非英语专业研究生英语教材的发展历程,选取1987年《高级英语教程》(供研究生用)、1994年《研究生英语精读教程》、2008年《研究生英语精读教程》三个版本作为个案,具体从教学目标、选材内容、编排方式三个维度,厘清不同发展阶段非英语专业研究生英语教材的变化,揭示其演变的主要特征是:教学目标从获取科学文化知识到提升综合文化素养;教材内容从重理轻文到文理融合;教材编排从单本配磁带到全方位开放资源。探究其发展的深层机理是:以知识状态的演进为前提条件,以时代要求为导向,以国际交流合作方式方法改革为契机,以提升研究生文化素养与学术交流能力为鹄的。依此,提出非英语专业研究生英语教材改革的新方向是:教学目标应以文化价值为取向具有前瞻性;内容选择应经典与时代,科学与人文,趣味与实用并重;编排方式要兼顾开放性与个性化,为切实提高非英语专业研究生英语教育水平提供参照系。 The essay is a case study on the evolution of English teaching materials for non-English major postgraduates since the reform and opening-up policy in 1978. A Course of Advanced English(for Postgraduates Students) in1987, Postgraduate English Intensive Reading in 1994 and Postgraduate English Intensive Reading(The Third Edition) in 2008 are selected as samples for case study. From the perspectives of teaching objectives, contents and layout, the concrete changes are presented in different development phases for the English teaching materials for non-English major postgraduates. That is, the teaching objective is changed from obtaining scientific and cultural knowledge to enhancing the comprehensive cultural abilities. The contents are from the imbalance to the harmony of the sciences and humanities. The layout is from sole teaching material plus tapes to open digital resources. At the same time, the mechanisms of the development of English teaching materials for non-English major postgraduates are explored. The evolution of knowledge itself is a precondition. The requirement in the new age is an orientation. The innovation of the way of international communication and cooperation is an opportunity. The enhancement of cultural literacy and the capabilities of academic communication for postgraduates is the aim. Last but not the least, the new directions of the development of English teaching materials for non-English major postgraduates are put forward to provide a reference for improving its educational levels. The teaching objectives should be prospective and culture-oriented. The selection of the contents should balance the relationships between classics and new topics, science and arts, interests and practice. The layout should leave the room for openness and individualism.
