摘 要: 1960年代,柬埔寨成为一个新的独立国家后,诺罗敦·西哈努克亲王大力发展柬埔寨流行音乐,将其作为后殖民时代的现代柬埔寨的象征。1960—1970年代初期,柬埔寨摇滚音乐场景也进入黄金时期。然而,到1970年代早期,红色高棉政权的政治冲突和严格的文化管制使其轰然崩塌。近年来,两支乐队的流行见证了柬埔寨摇滚乐的复兴:"登革热"和"柬埔寨太空计划"。这两支西方的摇滚乐队翻唱了60年代柬埔寨的摇滚歌曲,并使它们席卷世界。本文的目的有两方面:第一,文章分析了1960—1970年代柬埔寨摇滚音乐的兴起与衰落。虽然60年代的柬埔寨音乐场景广受西方文化和音乐的影响,然而其命运却系于本土的政权与政治景况。第二,文章通过聚焦两支跨国摇滚乐队"登革热"和"柬埔寨太空计划",对近期柬埔寨摇滚乐的复兴现象做出了理解。他们通过诸如引入英文歌词等方式重制60年代柬埔寨摇滚乐,在柬埔寨摇滚乐和现在的全球音乐文化之间构筑了对话。同时,乐队成员及其听众的复杂身份,使得他们的音乐成为载体,来承载柬埔寨人民与侨民中柬埔寨国家概念的跨国界的重新想象,以及后红色高棉时期柬埔寨身份认同与世界媒体文化的重新联结。 In 1960 s,shortly after Cambodia became a newly independent country,Norodom Sihanouk developed Cambodian pop music as a representative of the modern Cambodia in post-colonial years.Cambodian rock music scene entered the golden age from the 1960 s to the early 1970 s.However,it drastically collapsed due to political conflict and rigid control over culture in Khmer rouge regime in the early of 1970 s.Recently,a significant revival of the Cambodian Rock music has been witnessed through the prevalence of two bands:Dengue Fever and The Cambodian Space Project.These two western rock bands covered the 1960 s Cambodian rock songs and make them hit worldwide.The aim of this paper had two folds:First,it analyzed the emergence and collapse of Cambodian rock music during 1960 s to 1970s.Although the Cambodian music scene in 1960 s was largely influenced by western culture and music,its fate was closely tied to local regime and politics.Second,it explained the phenomenon of recent revival of the 1960 s Cambodian rock music by focusing on two multinational rock bands,Dengue Fever and The Cambodian Space Project.Through re-making of the 1960 s Cambodian rock with,for example,introducing English lyrics,they have built a dialogue between the Cambodian 1960 s rock music and recent global music culture.Moreover,the complex identity of the band members and their audiences have made their music a carrier of the transnational re-imagination of Cambodian nationhood among Cambodians in Cambodia and who live aboard,and the rearticulation of Cambodian identity in post-the Khmer Rouge regime to global media culture.
